Prof. L.Ilieva was a delegate to the international conference "Together we are stronger! Harmonising the fight against fraud and corruption in Europe", which took place on 25 and 26 February 2008 in Cologne. The conference was organized and funded by the European Anti-Fraud Office at the European Commission (OLAF) and DBB Akademie - Bonn. It was attended by over 300 representatives of law-enforcement institutions, NGOs and financial control bodies of the 27 EU member states.
The conference discussed three required elements for successful fight against corruption:
- Needed dose of political will;
- Clear and transparent procedures;
- Systematic audit by preliminary prepared specified criteria.
