The European Commission seeks to support local authorities in developing Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans in urban and peri-urban areas.

In its Action Plan on Urban Mobility it committed to providing guidance materials, to promoting best practice exchange, to identifying benchmarks, and to supporting educational activities for urban mobility professionals. To put this into effect, in 2012 a team of country experts led by Rupprecht Consult under a contract managed by the EACI has devised a training programme for practitioners and decision makers across Europe on Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans. The Bulgarian partner is Club 'Sustainable Development of Civil Society'.
